Pittsburgh Fashion Week 2011 Designer's Preview Show

May is always a busy month for back to back Fashion Shows either for charity, fundraisers or just annual Spring shows...but are we ready for Pittsburgh Fashion Week 2011???

Miyoshi Anderson Executive Director & Founder of Pittsburgh Fashion Week gave designers, reatailers, models and students of the Pittsburgh Art Institute a preview of what we'll see in some of the back to back runway shows for the last two days of PFW 2011.

Designers and Retailers from all over the city and surrounding areas also got the opportunity to sign up to have their designs featured in one of the every hour on the hour runway shows as well as vendor opportunities in the Fashion Avenue Market Place.

A few of the designers featured a sample of their designs tonight at the largest and most exciting Designer & Retailers Meeting ever!

One designer featured his custom jewelry line for men & women...

Another featured his Baby Doll, Color Blocking & Solid Gold designs that were recently shown at the annual Willie Gee's "Beyond the Stars" Fashion Show several weeks ago...

Another featured her sheek & floral designs that were recently shown at the Glam for the Cure event last month...

This designer is a student at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh where this meeting was held and her designs are inspired by music and nature!

And this next Brazilian designer who is currently at Fashion Week in Brazil has had her floral flowing designs featured in Pittsburgh Fashion Week 2010 and as recent as this past weekend at the Couture Violette Fashion Show "Passionate About Purple" fundraiser for Gwen's Girls.

Glam For The Cure Event Review

The 2nd Annual "GLAM FOR THE CURE" event was on April 21st at Olive or Twist and it was a great success! CEO of Style & Steel Event Planning Wadria Taylor and her partner Fashion Stylist/ Wardrobe Consultant Lakisha Pattin were the perfect hostess'.
...and GLAM it was with PINK as the preferred color of the night and the signature "Glamtini" drink!

The evening began with a sexy show by Exotic Hush Lingerie...

Then there was entertainment with Poetry and Spoken Word by I am Sincere, Ezra, Bekezela Mguni & Jacquea Mae...

And Neo Soul Singing by Bohemian Soul and Bridgette Perdue!

Sheek and funky fashions by Saani Mac (I love the printed black & white pants paired with a color splashed denim jacket)!

And Vendors Lia Sophia Jewelry, Traci Lynn Jewelry, Mary Kay, DeFace Makeup Artistry, Ardyss International, Sabika Stratagem Jewelry, Third Day Luxury Soaps, Pretty Nail Salon, Posh Nail Boutique, Fitness with a Twist and Raven Bean owner of Shades of You Salon!

These lovely ladies are trendsetters with a style all their own! I love the hand printed poetry denim patched skirt, the floral print maxi dress worn unbuttoned over black leggings with wide waist belt, and the African inspired hand painted long pink dress!

Many guests were in attendance for this lovely charity event including myself, my friends Camberly Abajian and Kathye Sears.

Guest Iyana Tennon founder of Virtuous Academy knows all too well about supporting a worthy cause!

Fauna Solomon founder of thedatingtruth.com is dressed to impress in this fuchsia romper and black blazer with the trendy nude patent leather platform pump and friend ironically wearing her boyfriend jacket over a white dress with pale pink t-strap heels!

These ladies are relaxing in style & comfort wearing Jockey Person to Person fashions for which they are representatives as also seen here during yet another fashion show that evening.

More local celebs were in the house...Diane Daniels business editor for the New Pittsburgh Courier & Soul Pitt Media...

And at the end of the night there was only one winner of the raffle bag full of prizes from the vendors such as jewelry, spas & gift certificates...Camberly Abajian!!!
