FASHION... A YEAR IN REVIEW: Willie Gee's 2011

FASHION, FASHION, FASHION! Once Winter melts away and Spring breaks there are fashion shows back to back to back! Last year I had too many shows and pictures to review, edit and post that unfortunately some of the best got left behind. There were so many GREAT Fashions that I couldn't easily pick a few, post and move on. So I'll be doing Fashion...A Year In Review to give you all a taste of what's to come THIS Spring! I thought I'd start with one of my favorite shows...WILLIE GEE'S!

This was Willie Gee's 2nd Installment of one-of-a-kind designs by Malcolm Williams, the show named for his Grandmother who always encouraged him to persue his dreams...and I'm so glad she did!

Malcolm is one of thee best designers I've seen in Pittsburgh and even on a larger scale like NY and Paris. With flowy designs that scream High Fashion!

Malcolm is seen here with one of his designs from the bridal collection.

The packed house was entertained by 2011 Pittsburgh Fashion Week's Hall of Famer LaMont Jones as he pulled Fashionistas from the crowd to show off their fashions and this one happened to be a designer himself designing a gem studded shoe that I tried hard to get a good photo of but couldn't.

Willie Gee's always features more than just Malcolm's designs. He features other up and coming designers including student designer Cary D. Heard that I've featured in the Soul Pitt Quarterly and debuted his designs in the 2011 PFW Student Show.

This young designer has a great eye for fashion and thinks outside the box when it comes to street wear, club wear and prom gear! I love his twist on the Prom Gear...I think we're all over the same prints and cut out patchwork prom designs.

Usually you just see the guys in a colored vest and tieto match the dress but Cary has taken it to a new deminsion with his printed vest and ties to match the pattern of the dress.

Cary is seen here with model LaTonia Michelle.

In addition to the Classy Designs Malcolm does, he also adds a funky flair to his shows. Going for the WOW factor he creates unimaginable designs that make for an exciting show! These designs should be on display in the Art Institute or some museum of art.

The paper skirt - made from magazine pages was one of my favorites! Malcolm in gold sequin Hammer Pants received roses after the outstanding show.

I had to go back stage to take a closer look at these designs!!!

I also LOVED the magazine layered dress with fusia feathered bodice!

After the show I caught of with some of the lovely models Serena Bond, Danielle Jackson & LaTonia Davis.

And I couldn't resist getting a photo with this fabulous designer whom I'm sure will someday be on Project Runway and on New York and Paris Runways soon!

Come prepared to spend!!! These vendors have some irresistable jewelry and accessories like none you've ever seen before! Shout out to Nikki's Beauty Bar in Oakland. #Ialmostwentbankrupt

Willie Gee's Fashion Show is also the place to be to see where Pittsburgh's Fashionistas are hiding!!!
