Look like a "Precious Princess" at Your Oscar Event

This is a big year for African-Americans in film with two movies up for Oscar nominations. We've always been "Precious" but never a "Princess"! These beautiful Black Women looked stunning at the NAACP Awards this past weekend. And while they may not make Joan River's fashion review or KoJo's best & worst dressed list...remember you saw it here first and I say they are FABULOUS!!!

The Oscars are coming up on this Sunday and in honor of two of the biggest nominees this year I want to reveal some fashions that would help all our "Precious Princess'" look their best in top fashion. Mo'Nique and Gabby are two of the main nominees of this year's Oscar Awards for their roles of actress & supporting actress in the movie PRECIOUS based off the best selling book "PUSH". As a plus size woman and young lady, they are both very precious to me my being plus size myself! We all know the fashion industry does not recognize anything past a size 3 in society but the reality is, we're here, we're gifted, talented and intelligent and the world can never completely keep us out of the equation. In fact there are so many full figured women making waves and changing the status in the fashion world that we are breaking ground everywhere. Tenille White (an African American Designer) will show her Couture fashions on BET's Rip The Runway later on this month.

London debuted it's Plus Size Catwalk for their fall and winter collection.

This past summer Glamour magazine did an article on a plus size model in the buff while Vanity Fair left Gabby off the cover of their young actress' issue. Tomorrow Tyra Banks will air her "Fiercely Real" Plus Size Model Search on her show. Regardless of what society sees as beautiful, precious, princess or acceptable in fashion we have an obligation to be confident, healthy and know that God made all shapes and sizes in his own image and that we are fearfully and wonderfully made! So here are some tips on staying fierce and a force to be reckoned with!!! Glamour magazine has made their Oscar predictions based off of the runway of New York Fashion Week. Here's where you can find similar fashions in "real sizes". Check out these Oscar worthy gowns.

This sheer look is straight from the Alberta Ferretti runway but can be imitated with this nude classic gown from NewportNews.com for under $60.

Bright Colors are all the glow this year so this 2010 Versace ice blue gown could be imitated by this powder blue elegant gown from Nordstrom for under $200 and would be a beauty on the likes of Queen Latifah!

This red off the shoulder gown from Nordstrom is sure to get you all the attention you want comparable to the Runway sleek one shoulder look.

If you want to be daring you can rock this ruffle & mesh skirt and lace top from NewportNews.com for under $60 and be the star you want to be like this Oscar prediction slated for Penelope Cruz.
Remember to purchase and wear your Body Magic undergarments for your best look. I know the Oscars are just six days away but they do rush orders for an additional fee. Go to www.ardysslife.com/sabrina'scloset and see what would look best for your dress.
For dress shoes and accessories go to DSW.com and Aldo.com. I found another website that custom creates "designer inspired" gowns with names like Bradgelina and Salma. Now these gowns are custom made to order so they take a little longer to ship. About 4 weeks so get your orders in for the Urban Empowerment Gala & VIP Awards... in Pittsburgh!!! So until then you can catch me at the Pittsburgh Film Office's 10th Annual Oscar Party at the August Wilson Center Sunday, March 7th on the red carpet reporting on all the local stars' Oscar fashions!
